Audio Effects Project
The idea of my audio effects project is to build upon my knowledge of audio, editing and the use of microphones that I originally had no experience of.

To create my audio effects project, I worked along side my friend; Chloe Wallace to plan, convey ideas and record the audio effects. I came up with the idea of a horror themed audio sequence as I believed it would be interesting, fun and have a great outcome. Most horror movies that I have seen and come across, always have the same or similar background soundtracks and audio effects. This is because the audio effects and background music is what makes the horror movies as it builds the tense atmosphere within the audience.

My story of my audio sequence is based upon a innocent person who is working night shifts on their own at work. The person soon realised that she was not alone when a serial killer had followed her out of the bathroom and down the corridor. The person begins to worry therefore begins to start running to the door and out into the open in order to find help or safety. Will she make it out alive or will the unknown serial killer catch and kill her?
The idea of my sequence is to create a horror themed audio sequence without any dialogue. I wanted to convey the theme of an horror movie with background music and creepy sound effects for the audience to be amazed when listening to the track.

Me and Chloe started out planning how we was going to convey this theme by looking closely at different examples and projects that have previously been made. My initial idea for this project was to create 3D audio effects by making footsteps and effects come closer to the microphone while getting louder in the process. When the sound effect recordings move away from the microphone they will be getting quieter as the sound moves away from the microphone. This was the plan as I wanted the audience to feel like they are in the recording as the microphone which creates the whole tense feeling just like horror movies. However this idea did not work when I tried recording the effects as I realised this effect needs to be edited which I have not yet experienced or learnt.
Here are some previous sound effect projects that I had come across when researching my project. These projects are what other people have uploaded to Youtube. They have given me inspiration and ideas that I have been able to develop in my own unique way.
