Peer and Self-assessment, recognising the value of communication in a creative media production
Peer assessment by Breanna Bass: How well did Callie work throughout her project? did she work constantly throughout or lack a little at times?
I believe that Callie worked very hard throughout her project. She did not lapse, sometimes she may be a little behind and say that she has things to do but as a whole, Callie caught up and got done everything she needed to do.
How much did Callie communicate to an audience? do you feel she communicated with her target audience well in the creation and research processes or do you feel she mostly encountered her own opinion?
I actually believe that Callie communicated to her audience very well. She handed out a initial questionnaire for her initial idea 'Mutant Creature' and a second one for her final idea. Her questionnaires and discussions allowed us to convey her real opinion to her whether she liked it or not. I feel she listened to us and had taken our opinions well in the making of her product.
How do you feel Callie could improve on her project?
Maybe having a little more practice at her speech presentation, being a little more confident and sure of what she is saying and her presentational skills on her FMP page. Maybe not use as many PDF's but maybe be a little more creative and try to make the page look visually stunning rather than just everything placed there.
What do you like best about the final product?
I like the difference in shots and perspectives. I like the POV shots and the jump cuts when building up to the main event.
What do you like least about the final product?
I think that Callie tried maybe a little to hard with the editing and cinematography stages. It made it look a little less professional and I think that she should of just kept it simplistic and easy with a little creative spark to it.
Peer assessment by Dan Dines:
How well did Callie work throughout her project? did she work constantly throughout or lack a little at times?
I think that Callie worked strongly throughout her project. There was never a point that she didn't work hard although she definitely put in a lot more effort towards the end, near the deadline.
How much did Callie communicate to an audience? do you feel she communicated with her target audience well in the creation and research processes or do you feel she mostly encountered her own opinion?
Callie really did communicate with her audience, when handing out her questionnaires, she sat with each peer and asked their full opinions before writing anything down. She did not differ the answers she just understood all of them and took them on board in her project.
How do you feel Callie could improve on her project?
Callie could of improved maybe on the layout of her project on page. Maybe explaining what everything is and what it is for and making the layout clearer and more professional yet creative.
What do you like best about the final product?
I like the ideas and thought processes behind what you have produced. I like how original and different your product is compared to others and I like the way in which you have responded to the term 'Transition'.
What do you like least about the final product?
I think you could maybe build on your camera angles and movement showing the action up close. I feel that it could have maybe been filmed a little better, making the audience more visually entertained. This will come with practice and experience.
Self-assessment:
I personally believe that I have worked as hard as I possibly could throughout the whole of the project. I certainly worked harder towards the end of the project as the deadline was coming up soon but I worked evenly throughout the beginning of the project too.
I also believe that I worked well with my audience as I tried to take on everyone's opinion I could so that I could adapt my product, not only for the targeted audience but for everyone who is watching and has a opinion about it.
I feel that even though I worked very hard throughout, I feel that I could of worked even harder to make my page and work look stunning on page instead of everything being jumbled. Maybe if I put in a little extra work at the start, I could of had time to do this.
I think my targeted audience are very happy with the product I have produced for them as it conveys all of the requirements and parameters set to do its job. It has allowed for young teenagers to have the information they need about knowing where to go for help, who to call and what they should avoid and it also provides a visual entertainment purpose for all. I think it has definitely met its set requirements.
This creative media production has taught me the value of communication in media. In order to create a successful creative media product, you have to ensure that you are communicating with your audience to a very high standard in order for the product to be successful. You have to allow for everyone's opinions even if they are not the targeted age group or do not particulary understand, everyone's opinions and thoughts need to be encountered.
