YEAR 2 PORTFOLIO
Facebook Page
Shown above are screenshots showing the Facebook profile that I have created for the business. My mum mostly operates the Facebook profile as she knows a lot more about what the prices are for each object, what the names are for each product and what deals or packages we are doing. I mainly photograph, video, advertise and design the business cards. These photographs uploaded to Facebook that I have screenshotted do not look very professional. I took these photographs quickly on my phone just to get the account up and running, they do not look as good as I was hoping and I will re-shoot the products professionally and upload them on Instagram but customers from the stalls wanted to see the Facebook up and running to make several orders to either pick up or be delivered so this is what the Facebook looks like temporarily until it is developed.
Facebook Banner Creation
Shown here are the two Facebook banners that I have created. I didn't want the Facebook banner to be of just one product. I wanted it to promote the business and show various products that we have and sell. This banner shown on the left was created when I had only done one shoot. I used Photoshop for each of the best images I took, I enhanced the images using the curves tool, the saturation tool and levels to bring out the contrast and colour, I then used the magic wand tool to select the images, I went to select and inverse at the top of the screen which inverted my selection of the product to the background only. I then rasterised the layer and deleted it. I did this for each image to be put onto the banner. I then googled the ratio for the Facebook cover photo and I put this in Photoshop. I made the background a layer and dragged over every one of my photos. I re sized the photos and tilted them, I got images off of google of the scents that the bath bombs are and I put them with some of the bath bombs and added our title and tagline on.
Is this banner successful?
I do believe that this banner is successful as it fits its purpose of showing multiple bath bombs and products that we sell as a business however, we sell many more different ranges of products not just these bath bombs and it does not look professional. I do not like the fact that it does not look professional, I do not like that I have used images of fruits that are not my images, I have just taken from google and I do not like how the banner is only subject to a few bath bombs. We know have a much wider range of products.

So, for my seventh photo shoot, I decided to photograph a range of different products that we sell together for the Facebook cover photo. I have photographed 3 new bigger bath bombs, two white bath bombs are the same either side of the green bath bomb. I have done this for symmetry to neutralise the image. i have added a floral fizz in the centre, a soufflé, 3 bath eggs and mini chill pills. I have not added a soap bar or soap flower or other products because I thought the image would look a little too much although I did experiment with the other products in the shoot. Even though not every product is shown within this image, it still does show off a wide range of different products we have to offer which people may like the look of. This is why I have set this as my business Facebook cover photo.
The post shown to the left, I have posted on the Facebook business page to promote the Instagram business page that I have also created to promote the business. I believe that this post is a success because I have managed to reach out to 139 people so far meaning this amount of people have reached the Instagram page.
I get around 130 people that have visited the Instagram page in the last few days. This is only a small success but to me, it is really good, seeing as me and my mum are only just starting out.

I think promoting the Instagram page on Facebook and boosting it to reach more people, is super useful because it allows more people to see the Instagram in case they use Instagram more than Facebook and it allows people on Instagram to come over and see the Facebook in case they prefer using Facebook.

This video shown on the left, I am not too proud to of because it was just filmed on my phone, the camera is wobbly, it is not great quality and it does not look professional. If I was to film it again, I would use my Nikon camera, I would do one continuous video and keep moving different positions and angles showing all of the water from a distance to show the reaction of the product to water, while also filming close ups of the water and the product. I will switch between angles and perspectives to make the video look interesting.

This video shown here, I much prefer to the video shown above as there is a lot of sound to the video, the video is entertaining by switching up the shots and it is not too long.
I think that the description I have wrote up for the bath bomb, is also really good as it really sells the product to the customers.

Shown to the left is how much I spent to boost the post. I only spent £4 as I was not sure whether or not boosting the post would make a difference to the influx of customers.

As you can see below, these are only a very few private messages that we have got on Facebook, of people requesting orders from us. As you can see, people are wanting orders and deliveries. Most people find us on Facebook and Instagram and then come to find us to purchase and see our products on the stalls. We always post what events and boot fairs we attend in advance.
Facebook Orders:
Recent Posts:
Shown here are some of the most recent posts that I have uploaded onto the business Facebook page.
Shown to the left is one of the boot fair events that we have shared so our customers know where we are and where we are going to be.
This is so most people that are local and have seen us on Facebook or Instagram, can come and look around our business stalls and purchase products and get special offers rather than ordering online.

The posts shown to the right also promote the products we sell in a professional fashion because of the images uploaded and the catchy descriptions.
If I were to do more posts in the future, I woud edit the images a lot better before posting as they are a little dark.
However as they are, I find them very successful as they have intrigued customers to the boot fairs and posting orders to us because they look so lovely. We have also got some lovely comments and people sharing our page so their friends and family can see the business also.

I like the images of the boot fair we attend shown on the left as it really promotes us. The stalls look busy, they are filled with products, they look colourful and definitely does the business justice.
Is the boot fairs relevant to the business site?
Yes i believe there is an important connection, by having the stalls customers can come to the stall, see, touch and smell the products which links to real life experience of the products so are more aware on choice when buying online.

Is the images and videos a big part in making the Facebook page popular?
I believe these are one of the most important element to getting the business to reach a wider audience and to attract peoples attention and interest.
The images show a colourful range of products, and look stunning by sharp, clear shots at different angles to enhance the beauty of each product.

How can the images be improved?
I believe some of the images are near to perfect but improvements can be made by adding black backgrounds, and images of the stall could be more professional by taking the images on a camera and editing instead of by a phone.
Video's are connected to the products and boost sales by simply showing a simple and easy way of using a product and shows exactly how it works and what happens.
This i feel is so important to people to no exactly what they are purchasing and why and no hidden disappointing surprises can occur.
I feel this is one of the reasons YouTube is so successful.

Can the videos be improved?
Yes i feel videos can always be improved and are a work in progress.
